These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Recovery Worx application and website (the “Service”), operated by Recovery Worx (“we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service is intended only for adults. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the Service. By signing up, you confirm that you are 18 or older. The Service is currently offered to clients and referrals of Recovery Worx and is not open to the general public.
Recovery Worx is a personal wellness and recovery companion tool. It is designed to support the work you do with your counselor between sessions, through journaling, guided exercises, check-ins, self-guided tools, and secure messaging.
The Service is not a medical or mental-health treatment by itself, and it is not a substitute for professional diagnosis, therapy, or emergency care. Using the app does not by itself create a therapist-client or other professional relationship. Professional counseling, where provided, is a separate service (see Section 4).
In a crisis, do not use this app. If you are thinking about harming yourself or others, or you are in a life-threatening emergency, call or text 988(Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911 right away. The Service is not monitored in real time and cannot provide emergency help.
“Haven” is an AI-powered conversational companion built into the Service. Haven is not a licensed therapist, counselor, or medical professional, and its responses are generated by an automated system. Haven may produce information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or not appropriate for your situation. Do not rely on Haven for medical, legal, or crisis advice. Always use your own judgment and consult a qualified professional for clinical concerns.
Counseling sessions, where offered, are provided by Carlos Martinez, Licensed Clinician, a separate professional service that you book and pay for separately (for example, through scheduling). Those sessions are subject to their own professional, ethical, and licensing requirements and any separate consent or informed-consent documents you receive. Professional counseling is available only where the provider is licensed/certified to offer it (California).
Some features require a paid membership. Pricing is shown at sign-up and on the membership page (currently $49/month). Payments are processed by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store your full card details. Memberships renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel at any time from your profile; you will keep access through the end of the period you have already paid for. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
You agree not to:
Content you enter (journals, check-ins, messages, and similar) belongs to you. You grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to operate and provide the Service to you (including the processing described in our Privacy Policy). We do not sell your content.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, how we use it, and the service providers who help us run the Service.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content (including Haven’s output) is accurate or suitable for your circumstances.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Recovery Worx will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
